Related knowledge

• Total residual chlorine: the general term of free residual chlorine and combined residual chlorine, the test index of this kit "total chlorine" refers to the total residual chlorine.
• Free residual chlorine: C12,HOCl and OCl in aqueous solution are collectively referred to as free residual chlorine.

Principle

The N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine (DPD) method in the GB 5750.11-2006 version of the Standard for the Determination of Disinfectants in Drinking Water Standards, the DPD reagent reacts rapidly with the residual chlorine in the water to form a red solution. Under the catalysis of potassium iodide, the combined residual chlorine can also develop color with DPD.

This test kit can be used in analysis of total chlorine (total residual chlorine) in waters that have been disinfected by chlorine-containing disinfectant.
