Product: 090034 Total Chlorine Test Kit
Usage: This test kit can be used in analysis of residual chlorine (total) in waters that have been disinfected by chlorine-containing disinfectant.
Features
Quick and easy
Operating in accordance with the instructions, users can complete the total chlorine test independently without specialized training. 5 minutes is enough to complete the analysis of one water sample.
Accurate and reliable
Determination results with this method are in accordance with the results with the standard method. It can be used as an alternative method to the standard method.
Quantitative packing
The kit can be used for 100 times. It is small, light and easy to carry.
How to use?
Chlorine (Total) Test Specification
1. Fill a clean test tube with sample to the 15-mL mark
2. Add the contents of one DPD-Chlorine (Total) Reagent to the tube, cap the tube and shake to dissolve
3. Open the cap, place the tube in 2 cm above the blank of standard card, compare the color from top to bottom, the standard color level has the same color as observed from the tube shows the concentration of chlorine (total) in the sample.
Notes
1. Water sample pH : 5.0-8.0, temperature: 15-25 |
2. The presence of other oxidizing substance will cause a positive interference to the result |
3. Complete the test within 5minutes after adding the DPD reagent. |
Q1: When doing hardness testing of water samples ,why color keep unchanged after adding 100ml of water ?
A1: The hardness of the water sample may belong to low hardness,it out of testing range range of reagents, lower hardness reagent is recommended to be used.
Q2: When doing chlorine (or ozone, total chlorine) testing of for water samples, the longer time, the deeper the color, and why?
A2: Because the containing DPD reagent may react with the air oxidation, it is proposed in strict accordance with the test instructions, to control the reaction time.
Q3: Why the water sample shows pink after adding DPD chlorine (or total chlorine, ozone) reagent ,and then faded to become colorless?
A3: The reason may be that the concentration of chlorine (total chlorine, ozone) in the water is too high, dilution is recommended before testing.
